There’s a loaf of bread baking in the solar oven, a sofa cushion slip-cover being dyed in the washing machine, and I’m sewing quilt blocks while waiting for silly_imp to get back to me on the technical bug with the freelance copy-editing/proof-reading gig I’m currently doing for part-time work.
I just found out (via our Green Party candidate’s website) that there’s an organic farm that does CSA baskets just down the road from us, and I’ve made plans to go foraging for wild apples with Fearsclave on Saturday.
Now all we need is for t! to get a couple of days a week working from home, so that I get to see more of him, and life will be just about perfect!
Isn’t it great?
*sigh*
Five more years…
It is so good to hear you say that.
How did the slipcover dyeing go?
The slipcover dyeing is going quite well. I’m not getting a perfectly 100% even dye job, because our front-loading washing machine uses less water, and so the fabric isn’t completely submerged (in the UK I used a different brand of dye that was designed to be used with front loading machines), but I figure since our sofa is never going to look pristine, it’s close enough.
Whoever named the colour on the packets I bought “Wine / Vin Rouge” was right on the money. The colour looks *exactly* like red wine spilled on a white tablecloth!
