This year’s hand-made Christmas gifts included:
A scarf for my mum, knit with some lovely yarn that Arin spun for me
A second scarf for my mother-in-law, knit from soft, shiny bamboo yarn.
And a lap quilt for Baba, t!’s Ukranian grandmother. She liked it a lot.
Wonderful scarves—did you use the same pattern for both? And i really like the colors you chose for the quilt. What is that pattern called?

Yep, both scarves are the ubiquitous “One-row lace scarf” that Arin & I have been knitting multiples of!
The quilt pattern is called “All Hallows Variation” presumably because it’s a variation on an older, traditional pattern called “All Hallows”. I chose it because it reminded me of some of the patterns that are painted on the Ukrainian Easter Eggs.
The scarves are lovely – and that quilt is absolutely gorgeous (makes me want to pull out my fabric again!)
Thanks very much.
The quilt has 60 pieces per block! Thankfully I only had to do 12 blocks for a lap quilt! The next quilt I’m doing is a Rail Fence!
