I’m trying to get back into the swing of updating this blog regularly, and so I’m starting with a photo post. Enjoy!
Beans and corn growing in our vegetable garden. They are both local Native American varieties.
Yarn I dyed using Queen Anne’s Lace (the yellow parts) and onion skins (the orange parts). I call the result “Butter Toffee”.
Chief, our alpha rooster, looking regal.
Sunflowers.
Welcome back! Things are looking quite glorious in your neck of the woods! I hope it’s just as good as you imagined it would be. Are the sunflowers merely decorative? If not, what does one do with them aside from hang up the flowers for birdseed?
The variety I’m growing is one that can be pressed for oil, but more realistically, I’m growing them as an experiment in starting to produce some small percentage of our own chicken feed.
Loving that yarn! It begs to be knit…
Lovely photos – and that is some seriously gorgeous yarn. Arin’s handspun?
Nope, LB Fisherman’s Wool. Nice to work with, but very prone to felting.
So good to hear from you!
I hope and trust you and t! are both flourishing just like your beautiful veggie garden!
