Tonight we had a couple of friends over for a solstice bonfire and dinner. We didn’t do any king of ritual, we just chatted, and caught up, and enjoyed each other’s company. It was lovely.
Right now there are people in my life who are either nearing, or at, the end of theirs. It’s difficult to focus on a celebration of the return of light when I am so conscious of their lights being extinguished; and so all I want to say is this: Thank you for everything you’ve given me. May your passing from this light be gentle and may your journey continue onwards.
You’ve said this beautifully.
