Thank you very, very much Mousme, Owldaughter and Toughlovemuse for the fantastic birthday gift. I can’t wait to try it out and make some home-made pasta. My mouth waters just thinking about making tortellini with flour from Homestead Organics, eggs from the farmer’s market, Peter’s beef and cheese from our local dairy co-op. I hope I have time to start playing with it soon!
Oooh! Did they give you a pasta roller? I love ours. Now that I’m comfortable making pasta, I can whip together fresh noodles in about 20 minutes.
Here’s my super easy recipe:
1 egg and 100g (about 1 c) flour per 2 people (plus a pinch of salt)
Mix it into a dough, roll it out, folding it, flouring it, and folding, rolling, and adding more flour until you’ve got a non-sticky, slightly leathery texture. Then roll it out to the desired thinness.
Yay! I’m so glad you like it! I suspect I will be picking one up for my mother this December, too.
Allison: Thanks for the recipe – I can’t wait to try it. I’ll have to make the time next week to experiment!
